Eligibility
This grant is open to members of the Royal College and the health care teams they work with, recognizing their collective effort in providing care to rural and remote communities across Canada.
The primary contact in the grant application must be a Royal College Fellow practising in Canada. A health care team is defined as a group of health care professionals¿and should also include registered charities/community partners such as a hospital foundation or a local non-profit with a shared interest in addressing a specific health issue. Both Canadian and international collaborations are permitted if they are critical to the project¿s success.¿¿
Summary
The Rural and Remote Team Innovation Grant supports health care teams in rural and remote areas of Canada who are developing innovative, community driven projects to address local health system challenges.
For rural physicians, this grant provides an opportunity to lead locally focused initiatives that reflect the realities of rural practice¿strengthening care delivery, supporting teams, and addressing unmet community needs.
Aligned with the Royal College¿s strategic priorities, the grant supports Fellows and health care teams in rural and remote communities whose work is rooted in local leadership, demonstrates sustained relevance, and lasting community benefit.
