Co-Creating Relational Pathways Toward Indigenous Food Sovereignties in Treaty 7 Territory
Summary
This study explores how Indigenous relationships with land, food, and culturally important places can support Indigenous food sovereignties across Treaty 7 Territory.
The project is being carried out in partnership with the Guardians of Sacred Lands, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community members. Participants may choose to take part in land-based gatherings, seasonal harvesting activities, visits to culturally significant places, sharing circles, interviews, storytelling, surveys, and shared meals.
The goal is to learn from community experiences and support Indigenous-led efforts to strengthen land-based learning, cultural knowledge, stewardship, community wellness, and Indigenous food sovereignties. The project will also help develop community resources, educational materials, and other outputs identified as meaningful by participants and community partners.
Taking part in the research is completely voluntary. People may attend community gatherings without participating in the research, and research participants may choose which research activities they wish to participate in.
