Help improve sleep apnea care in rural and remote Alberta

Summary

We are carrying out a study about how primary care teams can better support adults with obstructive sleep apnea, especially in rural and remote Alberta communities. Obstructive sleep apnea is a condition where breathing repeatedly stops or becomes shallow during sleep. It can affect sleep quality, daytime energy, concentration, health, and quality of life.

We want to learn from patients, people with lived experience, primary care providers, respiratory therapists, and staff involved in respiratory care. What we learn will help us design a team-based care model where trained non-physician healthcare providers, such as respiratory therapists, can support sleep apnea care in primary care settings.
