Protecting the digital privacy of Canadian mobile health app users
Summary
Do you use mobile apps to track your health, fitness, or wellness? Or have you decided to avoid them because of privacy concerns?
Researchers at the University of Calgary are conducting a study to understand Canadians' experiences and opinions regarding the privacy of mobile health (mHealth) apps. We want to learn what people expect from these apps and how they think personal data should be handled.
You are invited to participate in a confidential online survey, whether you use these apps or not. What's involved?
• A one-time online survey
• Takes about 15-20 minutes to complete
• Questions about your app usage, privacy awareness, and knowledge of Canadian privacy laws
• Optional registration for a follow-up study
Your insights will help create better information for consumers and support policies to protect digital privacy in Canada.
