Organizational Hybridity

Chair: Katrin Bauer (TU Dortmund University, Germany)

Description:
Hybridity, the hybrid combination of commercial and social goals (Battilana and Lee, 2014), involving multiple stakeholders, are key to social innovation to withstand grand challenges. Likewise, research also increasingly points to leadership as a crucial facet of hybrid organizing to manage amid multiple logics (Pache et al., 2024). This further stresses concepts like dynamic capabilities -and ambidexterity- enabling organizations and their leaders to reconfigure resources against multiple, changing objectives in hybrid organizing. This stream invites diverse contributions from different disciplines that tackle hybridity and its interrelated concepts, in social innovation and entrepreneurship, also going beyond hybrid organizing, approaching different sectors.
