New module streamlines the process for legal agreements | April 2, 2024
The Integrated CSM (Cumming School of Medicine) Legal agreement review process within IRISS is now live. This new module will streamline the request and review process for legal agreements, empowering UCalgary researchers and our legal team to manage these tasks more efficiently.
The new module will:
- Allow agreements to be submitted directly into IRISS, leveraging the familiar system that you and your teams currently use.
- Provide access to the IRISS help desk for assistance.
- Maintain a comprehensive archive of all correspondence and status changes, including key dates.
- Seamlessly integrate with other UCalgary systems (eg Ethics, Animal Care, Health System Access, and PeopleSoft) – minimizing redundant data entry.
- Enable edits to draft agreements thoughout the submission and review process.
"This exciting initiative represents a significant investment by UCalgary to reduce the administrative burden on research teams," says Dr. Marcello Tonelli, MD, Associate Vice-President (Research). "I extend my sincere gratitude to Dr. Stephen Freedman, Stephen Harris, Katherine Benning, Stacey Beck, Quoc Nguyen, Arvind Sen Sarkhandia and Kaleb Chisholm for their exceptional efforts in making this initiative a reality."
