About the Equitable Pathways Accelerator

The Equitable Pathways accelerator is one of six cross-cutting accelerators within One Child Every Child (OCEC), a national research initiative dedicated to improving child health and well-being across Canada.

The Equitable Pathways Team is committed to advancing research that recognizes the unique realities of equity-deserving groups (EDGs) through approaches grounded in justice, inclusion, and meaningful engagement. Guided by the principles of “nothing about us, without us” and “one size does not fit all,” we support the implementation of the OCEC EDI Action Plan by developing IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility) in Research educational materials, embedding disaggregated data and evidence-based practices across governance structures, and providing expert consultation to OCEC committees and research programs. Our scholarly activities are carried out in collaboration with EDGs to ensure intersectional approaches that close equity gaps in research design and amplify community-driven impact.

Micro-learning Module

This introductory micro-learning module offers a starting point for engaging IDEA-informed (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility) research with greater clarity, intention, and care. Designed to support inclusive research excellence, the module introduces key concepts, terms, and foundational principles that help build a common language for understanding how inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility shape research design, practice, and knowledge mobilization.
