About the Canada Excellence Research Chair
Dr. Steven Bryant joined the University of Calgary in 2014, as the institution’s first Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC). With a focus on improving and optimizing in-situ oil recovery in unconventional oil reservoirs using advances in nanotechnology, Dr. Bryant and his highly skilled team aim to use less steam, recover more oil, and reduce – and ultimately eliminate – the carbon footprint of unconventional hydrocarbon extraction.
