Dr. Chantal Morel’s work focusses on economic issues related to infectious diseases. Most of her work over the past 12 years has been on issues related to antimicrobial resistance – including resistance surveillance, antibiotic stewardship, R&D incentives, system-wide sustainable use measures, access to newer antibiotics, post-market drug performance measures, and supply chain issues. Her most recent project explores the granting of staged bonuses to companies who produce antibiotics that remain effective over time.
