Dr. Darren Derksen completed his BSc in Honours Chemistry (2003) and PhD in Chemistry (2008) at the University of Alberta. He then completed his postdoctoral studies in the lab of Prof. Ian Paterson at the University of Cambridge, UK (2008-2010). Dr. Derksen began his independent career at St. Francis Xavier University in 2010 and was then recruited to the University of Calgary in 2014 as the Alberta Children’s Hospital Junior Chair in Medicinal Chemistry. He was promoted to Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Calgary in 2018.
