Herman Barkema receives 2021 Killam Research Excellence Award

October 2021

Congratulations to Herman Barkema, Scientific Director of the AMR - One Health Consortium and One Health at UCalgary, for being awarded the 2021 Killam Research Excellence Award. Dr. Barkema helps oversee dozens of projects, works to reduce antimicrobial use in the dairy industry, advises scientists around the world about AMR research, and is recognized internationally for his research into mastitis and Johne’s disease.
