Research Services is comprised of many teams that can support research projects at any stage of the cycle. Teams are available for consultation and guidance from beginning to end and in some cases, throughout your full project journey.
We encourage researchers to reach out to various teams early in the planning stages so you are set up for success from the beginning, however many teams can offer valuable advice on how to translate research findings into real-world impact or take the next step to commercialization.
Ethics and Compliance - Human, Animal, and Biosafety
Research Services hosts two research ethics boards (CFREB and CHREB), three animal care committees, and a biosafety committee.

Research Data Management (RDM)
Guidance on sound RDM and data stewardship practices including Institutional RDM Strategies, Data Management Plans, and Data Deposit in response to the recent Tri-Agency Research Data Management Policy.

Knowledge to Impact (KI)
Offers support for community partnerships and knowledge mobilization in addition to guidance on initiatives such as the Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) and open science.

Indigenous Research Support Team (IRST)
RMS (Research Management System) manages the pre-award (LOI and Application) and post-award stages for research grants.
Institutes for Transdisciplinary Scholarship (ITS)
To address barriers to working between, across, and beyond traditional academic disciplines and in partnership with communities, the Institutes for Transdisciplinary Scholarship (ITS) provide resources and a collective approach to impact societal challenges and opportunities by facilitating collaboration, co-learning, and knowledge transformation informed by multiple perspectives
Equity, Divserity, and Inclusion (Office of Institutional Commitments)
The Office of Institutional Commitments (OIC) unites our efforts to advance Community Mental Health and Well-being (CMHW); Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility (EDIA); and Sustainability under one integrated framework.
Research Security Division (RSD)
Supports the research community by identifying and mitigating possible risks from unwanted
access, interference, or theft.
