Get Started
As a leading research-intensive, learner-centred institution, the University of Calgary takes great pride in the scholarly contributions of its faculty and staff. For this reason, the University strongly encourages its community to nominate colleagues for prizes and awards that acknowledge the caliber of the individual as well as the University of Calgary.
Research Awards Support
Research awards recognize scholarly excellence, enhance professional credibility, and open doors to further funding and collaboration opportunities. Honorific research awards elevate reputation and celebrate the impact of research on broader academic and societal contexts.
Research Chairs Support
Securing a Chair position is more than a mark of academic excellence; it can significantly enhance a scholar’s visibility, influence, and career trajectory. These accolades recognize sustained impact and leadership in a field, often opening doors to new collaborations, increased funding opportunities, and expanded research capacity.
The Research Services Office supports both internal and Tri-Agency research chair programs. Many of the opportunities we facilitate aren’t direct-application; instead, they’re institutionally coordinated, with institutional nomination processes.
