About the Research Security Division (RSD)
As UCalgary continues to lead in research and innovation, protecting the integrity of our research has become increasingly critical – especially in today’s fast-changing geopolitical environment, where the risks of knowledge theft, interference, and unintended transfer are on the rise.
To support researchers in navigating these challenges, the Research Security Division (RSD) was established in 2022 as a one-stop-shop. RSD provides comprehensive support including:
- Partner vetting
- Risk assessment guidance
- Research security funding requirements
- Travel security advice
- Training and information sessions
- Guidance on sanctions, export controls, and controlled goods
- Assistance with Government of Canada contracts via the Contract Security Program
- One-on-one consultations for personalized support
If you have questions or would like to schedule a consultation, please contact the Research Security team.
