The Developing Athlete Project
Summary
The purpose of this study is to better understand current knowledge and practices related to growth, maturation, and injury prevention in youth sport. Children and adolescents grow at different times and speeds. For young people playing sport, growth spurts can be particularly challenging. Families, coaches and sport clubs need up-to-date knowledge about growth and maturation to support athletes to stay healthy and enjoying their sport while growing.
We are seeking people who are involved in youth sport in Calgary to complete an anonymous online survey about growth, maturation, and injury prevention in their sport communities. It takes 15-20 minutes to complete. Answers to the survey will help us understand where the gaps are, so we can develop resources that support healthy sport participation for growing athletes.
