TapticWidgets: Haptic Interaction Techniques for Accessible and Multimodal Desktop Computing
Summary
We are investigating the impact of simple haptic feedback on common computer tasks. Some common devices provide vibration feedback capability. However, most applications do not use this feature. You will use an Apple Magic Trackpad 2 to perform the experiments. The experiments simulate the tasks everyone encounters every day when using a computer.
Eligibility
Eligible ages: 18 to 100
Accepts healthy participants: Yes
Inclusion criteria:
All participants are of general public aged 18 years and older.
For online participants, they must have an Apple Magic Trackpad 2 device, use Chrome or Chromium web browser, and use MacOS or a Linux operating system.
For in-person participants, the research team will provide the required equipment.
Exclusion criteria:
Participants need to be able to operate the trackpad using 2 fingers for scrolling and zooming the website.
