Institutional Infrastructure for Innovation
The Institutional Infrastructure for Innovation (III) at the University of Calgary is a world-class research and development hub that transforms ideas into impactful solutions. Originally established through UCalgary’s first Canada Excellence Research Chair program, the III has since evolved into a campus-wide resource, supporting researchers, startups, industry partners, and external organizations.
National Cybersecurity Consortium
The University of Calgary is one of five founding institutions in the National Cybersecurity Consortium, which leads the federal government’s new Cyber Security Innovation Network (CSIN). CSIN advances cybersecurity research, commercialization and talent in Canada.

Now Innovating
This episode was recorded liveduring Alumni All-Access 2025. Guests were invited by the ILO-R, including research experts and industry partners from the Alberta Plastics Recycling Association and Triple Three Trading. The panel discusses the different types of plastics, recycling methods, and the global plastics supply chain. We learn about the chemical challenges in recycling plastics, as well as work being done to recycle plastics.
