Palix Resilience Scale Validation Study

Summary

Researchers at the University of Calgary are inviting adults to take part in a research study to test a new online tool for measuring emotional resilience. Resilience is the ability to adapt and stay healthy even when bad things happen in your life, and it can change over time in response to your experiences and the skills you develop.

The existing measurement, the Palix Foundation Resilience Scale (PFRS), has been used by clinicians for many years to help patients understand their own resilience and plan their treatments. The purpose of this study is to test a new electronic version of this tool, which will allow it to be used more broadly in the future.

If you choose to take part in the study, you will be asked to participate in a structured interview and fill in questionnaires about your life experiences:
- 3 study visits (either online or in person);
- ~ 45 to 100 minutes each.
