SCN Honorary Distinction Awards

Eligibility

Khursheed Jeejeebhoy Prize for Application of Nutrition Research Findings to Clinical Practice: This prestigious award is presented each year to a Canadian, or a foreign national practicing in Canada, who has made an exceptional contribution to the broad field of clinical nutrition practice. The winner of this prize will have, in a particularly effective or creative way, applied their research results to clinical practice in order to expand or considerably improve it.

Earle Willard McHenry Award for Excellence in Nutrition Services: This prestigious award is presented each year to recognize exceptional services rendered by a Canadian, or a foreign national carrying out activities in Canada, in the field of nutrition. This prize is awarded to recognize the merit of the winner, who has distinguished himself as a teacher, as an inspiring figure for students or colleagues, as a leader, through professional associations, having produced advances in the field of nutrition, or for having offered administrative or material support for the development of exceptional programs in nutrition or focused on nutrition, or for its research work.

Young Investigator Award for Research Excellence: This annual award is given to a Canadian, or a foreign national carrying out activities in Canada, who received their last university degree no more than 15 years before the deadline for submitting applications for the year in which the award will be given and having made an exceptional contribution to research in the field of nutrition.

CIHR-INMD - CNS Partnership Prize for early career researcher: This award is awarded to recognize a person actively engaged in health research, who has demonstrated excellence and who has made an exceptional contribution to research related to nutrition, aligned with the mandate of the Institute of Nutrition . Nutrition, Metabolism and Diabetes (INMD) and the Canadian Nutrition Society (CNS). This award is given to a member of the SCN who meets the definition of early career researcher by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Therefore, the candidate must have held their first position for no more than 84 months.

Award for Excellence in Nutrition in Allied Health Professions:

• Be a member of the SCN
• Be an allied health professional participating in the clinical care provided to patients in need of nutritional support
• Have never been a winner of this award in the past

Nominations can be submitted by anyone and are open to all.
