Braiding Indigenous Leadership with the Alberta Leadership Quality Standards
Summary
Principals and superintendents will be chosen and interviewed based on their knowledge and implementation of Alberta Quality Standard Competency #5, which focuses on supporting the application of foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis, and Inuit, and ensuring that First Nations, Métis, and Inuit education is provided to all students. During the interviews, they will share their experiences and stories about how they have applied this competency in their schools or districts, including both successes and challenges they have faced.
Eligibility
Eligible ages: -30 to 60
Accepts healthy participants: Yes
Inclusion criteria:
Eligibility requirements;
1.) Principal or Superintendent
2). Completion of the Alberta Leadership or Superintendent Quality Standards course through the University of Calgary Continuing Education Department
3). Proof of Certificate course.
Exclusion criteria:
Not eligible for the study:
1). Preservice teachers, Teachers, support staff, board members, University Professors teaching Indigenous education
2). Individuals who have not taken the Alberta Leadership or Superintendent Quality Standard Certification Course offered by the University of Calgary Continuing Education Department.
