East Asian LGBTQ Individuals’ Coming Out Experiences to Parents
Summary
This study aims to understand how LGBTQ people from East Asian backgrounds share their sexual orientation and/or gender identity to their parents. We are interested in learning how East Asian LGBTQ individuals make sense of their identity (as both Asian and LGBTQ individuals) when they come out, and how they think coming out affects their mental health.
Eligibility
Eligible ages: 18 to 100
Accepts healthy participants: Yes
Inclusion criteria:
1. Individuals who are over 18 years old
2. Individuals who self-identify as both East Asian and LGBTQ
3. Individual residing in Canada or the US
