Echoes and Encounters: Exploring Cultural Identity and Memory Across Generations
Summary
This study is about how Immigrants see their culture and how family stories are shared between generations. We want to speak with people in Calgary who have moved from another country or whose family did. In a short interview, you’ll be asked to talk about your life, your family’s story, and what your culture means to you. Your story will help us understand how identity and memory are passed down over time.
Eligibility
Eligible ages: 18 to 99
Accepts healthy participants: Yes
Inclusion criteria:
You can take part if you:
Are 18 years old or older,
Live in Calgary or nearby,
Either moved from another country themselves or their parents moved from another country to Canada (migrant within the last two generations).
Can speak and understand English,
Are willing to do a short interview (in person or online)
Exclusion criteria:
You are not eligible if you:
Are under 18,
Don’t have a migration story in your life or family in the past 18 years,
Can’t speak or understand English well enough for an interview.
