Exploring limitations in the current standard of care for thyroid hormone replacement therapy in thyroid cancer survivors
Summary
We are asking thyroid cancer survivors who are currently undergoing treatment for their post-thyroidectomy care to answer a short survey about their care experiences, some related symptom management, and a few questions about how they work with their doctors.
Eligibility
Eligible ages: 18 to 111
Accepts healthy participants: Yes
Inclusion criteria:
- 18 years or older
- partial or total removal of thyroid gland (thyroidectomy) for the treatment of thyroid cancer
- now require treatment with any kind of thyroid hormone replacement medication (e.g., Synthroid, desiccated thyroid extract, liothyronine, levothyroxine, or any combination therapy)
Exclusion criteria:
- Less than 18 years old
- Anyone who has not had some or all of their thyroid gland removed
- Not on any thyroid medication (e.g., Synthroid, desiccated thyroid extract, liothyronine, levothyroxine, or any combination therapy)
