Mental Health and Brain Alterations in Children with Prenatal Alcohol Exposure
Summary
This study will investigate the effects of prenatal alcohol exposure and postnatal adversity on children's brains. We want to understand physical health issues, mental health, and brain structure in children with early adversity.
Eligibility
Eligible ages: 3 to 16
Inclusion criteria:
1. Children aged 3-18 with confirmed prenatal alcohol exposure and/or postnatal adversity (defined as abuse, neglect, mental illness in household, significant parental absence).
2. Able to tolerate a ~30-60 minute MRI scan, and 1-2 hour neuropsychological assessment.
Exclusion criteria:
1. Braces, or other mental implants that are contraindicated for MRI.
2. Genetic disorders
