Modulating Thought Dynamics Within the Dynamic Framework
Summary
The types of thoughts we engage in can both support and interfere with other types of cognition depending on the context. The goal of the present study is to examine what factors may impact these different types of thoughts.
This study has two parts, one where you will meet with a researcher and another where you will answer surveys during your daily life.
For the first part of the study, you will meet with a member of our research team over the videoconferencing platform Zoom. During this meeting you will complete a couple of surveys measuring your thoughts and mood, followed by a few behavioral tasks where you will respond to stimuli presented on a computer screen. This session will take approximately 80-90 minutes.
For the second part of the study, you will be asked to answer some very short surveys a few times a day for a period of 12 days. Each survey will take you about 1-2 minutes to answer, and they will be sent to you at random times during a time window that you choose based on your availability.
Participants who complete the study will receive compensation in the form of amazon gift cards.
