Understanding Experiences of Infertility in Women
Summary
The purpose of this study is to understand women's experiences of infertility. Previous research on this topic has focused on treatment access, stress and mental health, and informational needs. Women who are not actively seeking treatment or women who have experienced infertility after at least one successful birth have not been represented in previous research.
Eligibility
Eligible ages: 18 to 90
Accepts healthy participants: Yes
Inclusion criteria:
You are eligible to participant if you:
1. Were assigned at birth as female AND self-identify as a woman
2. Are 18 years of age or older
3. Have a current or previous medical diagnosis of infertility OR self-identifies as being unable to conceive a pregnancy after 12 months of trying OR self-identifies as being unable to conceive or carry pregnancy to term despite at least one successful birth
5. Able to speak and read English
6. Lives in Canada
7. Has access to computer and internet OR lives within 3 hours of driving distance from Lethbridge, Alberta
8. Consents to study
Exclusion criteria:
You are not eligible to participate if you:
1. Were not assigned at birth as female AND do not self-identify as a woman
2. Are under the age of 18
3. Do not have a current or former medical diagnosis of infertility OR have not had issues with conception or carrying a pregnancy to term
5. Cannot speak and read English
6. Do not live in Canada
7. Do not have access to a computer and interview AND you live more than 3 hours of driving distance from Lethbridge, Alberta
8. Do not consent to the study
