Mitacs is a national not-for-profit that helps companies, non-profits, hospitals and municipalities to solve strategic challenges by leveraging Canada’s world-class post-secondary talent and a global network of industry, academic, and government partnerships. Through these collaborations, Mitacs helps business and community partners succeed, improves students’ on-the-job skills development, and builds collaborative partnerships between industry and academia.Funding is open to all disciplines. From $10,000 to $180,000 is available per intern.

Find a partner organization
Identify the company, non-profit, hospital or municipality that you plan to partner with on a project.
Draft your project
Write a draft application for pre-screening and feedback by a Mitacs representative.
Submit your application
Applications have a success rate of over 90%. Mitacs will match funding dollar for dollar. Once an application has been approved, you can begin the same day, or anytime within 12 months.
