Eligibility
Eligible applicants must hold a faculty position with a Canadian university or affiliated institution, and are to be regarded as a dementia researcher.
Summary
The Alzheimer Society Research Program (ASRP) rewards new ideas and bold thinking. That’s why we launched our Proof of Concept grant a few years ago. We know there is a huge gap. We know this unrelenting condition needs outside of the box thinking to start changing its course. Unlike any other funding opportunity in Canada, this grant funds innovative, high risk and possible high reward ideas in dementia research. Existing hypotheses will not accepted at this time.
Letter of Intent (LOI)
Please note only those invited to complete a full Proof of Concept Grant application following the pre-screen of their Proof of Concept Letter of Intent (LOI) are eligible to submit a proposal to the ASRP competition. The launch of the Proof of Concept, Letter of Intent (LOI) process opens Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 8:00 am (EDT). The Proof of Concept LOI deadline is Monday, July 17, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. (EDT).
Submitting Full Applications
Your application is to be submitted via the online portal (Review Room). Access to the portal will be made available in September at the launch of the competition. If you applied online to the ASRP last year, log in with your previous ID and password. The system has autosaved the information you previously submitted and you will not have to fill out the entire application again.
*All applications are to be submitted online and in no circumstance will hard copies of applications be accepted.

Read the Meaning of Grant Signatures policy to understand what your approval means. Please see the agency guidelines for details about which signatures are required on your application, as it may differ from internal requirements.

If you submit your RMS record to Research Services after the internal deadline has passed, you must secure additional approvals. Please read: Late Applications Process.
