Alberta Innovates Health Innovation Awards

Eligibility

The Alberta Innovates Health Team is thrilled to announce the Health Innovation Awards, in recognition of deserving nominees shaping the digital health innovation landscape in Alberta in 6 categories: Up and Coming Talent, Trailblazing Researcher, Outstanding Health Company, Health System Innovation Champion, Catalyst for Health Innovation Award, and Alberta Health Data Innovation Award.

Up and Coming Talent- This award recognizes an extraordinary trainee from an Alberta-based post-secondary institution (undergraduate, graduate, or post-doctoral fellow) who has made remarkable contributions to advancing health innovation, such as through research, innovation, knowledge mobilization, and/or capacity building efforts.

Trailblazing Researcher- This award celebrates an outstanding researcher from an Alberta-based institution who is advancing innovative health solutions. Their work demonstrates exceptional potential to improve health outcomes and drive commercialization, contributing to both health advancements and economic growth.  

Outstanding Health Company- This award recognizes an Alberta-based company driving health innovation and economic growth. Nominees demonstrate visionary leadership, groundbreaking solutions, and a commitment to advancing healthcare through innovative solutions or technologies, positioning Alberta as a leader in health and economic development. 

Health System Innovation Champion- This award recognizes an Alberta-based leader, either clinical or non-clinical, who is transforming healthcare through innovative care models. By leveraging cutting-edge solutions across the continuum of care, this champion demonstrates a commitment to improving outcomes for patients, providers, and the health system as a whole. 

Catalyst for Health Innovation- This award recognizes an organization that has enhanced Alberta's health innovation ecosystem through a collaborative initiative leading to lasting impact on the health and wellness of Albertans. 

Alberta Health Data Innovation- This award recognizes an Alberta-based individual or entity that has harnessed Alberta’s data to launch a transformative initiative or implementation of a meaningful policy change.

Nomination Requirements:

1. Nomination Explanation (max. 3000 characters)
   1. Describe the nominee’s contributions to the advancement of health innovation in Alberta; 
   2. Describe how the nominee has demonstrated leadership in their respective domain;
   3. Describe the nominee’s impact, value, and tangible benefits to advancing health innovation in the province; 
   4. Describe the nominee’s commitment to excellence in advancing health innovation;
   5. Any other information that supports this nomination;
