Summary

The International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) is committed to its mission to advance the understanding prevention and treatment of conditions related to thrombosis and hemostasis. To reward and encourage early-career researchers in the field, the Society has established the Fundamental Research Career Development Award

Up to three annual awards of up to $50,000 USD will be given in the following categories:

  • Fundamental Mechanisms of Thrombosis
  • Fundamental Mechanisms of Hemostasis
  • Non-canonical Interactions of the Hemostatic System

Fundamental research is defined as basic and/or translational science in the field of thrombosis and hemostasis as described in the recent communication of the SSC.

The Fundamental Research Career Development Award was created with the goal of strengthening basic and translational science research, and helping establish the careers of the next generation of scientists in the fields of thrombosis and hemostasis. Recipients will be invited to present their research and discuss the impact of the award at future ISTH Congresses.
