Digital Storytelling Group for Pre-menopausal women with breast cancer: A pilot project to evaluate the therapeutic potential
Summary
Summary/Purpose of the Study:
This study explores the impact of a Digital Storytelling Group intervention designed specifically for premenopausal women who have experienced breast cancer. Over the course of six weekly sessions, each lasting two hours, small groups of six to eight participants will come together virtually using the University of Calgary’s Zoom platform. In these sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your experiences with breast cancer and its treatment, while also learning to create your own digital story through the online WeVideo platform, with guidance and support from trained facilitators.
Impact Statement:
By participating in this study, you'll receive personalized guidance and support to craft and share your own digital story, offering a meaningful way to express your journey with breast cancer and connect with other women who have faced similar experiences. While we hope that this program will be a positive and empowering experience, it’s important to note that we cannot guarantee any specific personal benefit.
This research aims to deepen our understanding of how digital storytelling can serve as a therapeutic tool for women like you, potentially leading to better support and care for premenopausal women with breast cancer in the future.
Please remember, your participation is completely voluntary, and you can choose to withdraw at any time without any impact on your current treatment or care.
