Exploring Birth Sex Influences in Tourette Syndrome
Summary
Knowledge of sex differences over time in Tourette's syndrome is limited. Very little is known about the root cause of Tourette’s syndrome between sexes. There also appears to be differences between sexes in brain function and presenting symptoms.
The results of this study will help researchers and clinicians better understand the influence of birth sex on TS. This has the potential to help tailor interventional treatments in the future. It can also help us better understand how hormones influence TS which can lead to new therapies.
We are looking for adolescents and adults with Tourette's syndrome. Your participation will involve clinical assessments, an MRI scan and blood samples (adults only).
