Exploring the effects of O2 and CO2 on the autonomic nervous system
Summary
We are studying how breathing different levels of O2 and CO2 affects breathing, blood pressure and heart rate. We will compare healthy individuals to patients with disorders of their autonomic “automatic” nervous system. Breathing, blood pressure, heart rate, brain blood flow, and nervous system activity will be measured. Participants will perform different breathing tests while lying down and upright.
