Fostering Violence Prevention and Well-Being for Black Women, Families and Communities
Summary
The purpose of this study is to understand the prevalence and impact of DV in Black communities, and to find strategies for prevention and intervention. Participants will be invited to participate in focus groups to gain knowledge about DV in Black communities and inform structural and institutional change. The objective of this is to gain insights into systemic barriers and to help shape actionable recommendations for policy, funding, and community-led DV prevention strategies. Participation in this study is voluntary, and participants may withdraw from the study prior to the conclusion of the focus group. No identifying information will be shared with the public; all information is confidential.
Eligibility
Eligible ages: 18 to 80
Accepts healthy participants: Yes
Inclusion criteria:
1. 18 years or older
2. Black community stakeholders (government representatives, funders and policy advisors, senior leaders from multiple sectors, and Black community leaders with policy influence)
3. Knowledgeable/have experience of DV prevention, intervention, in Black communities
Exclusion criteria:
Individuals who do not self-identity as Black.
