Grab FM!: Monitoring the marketing of food and beverages to teenagers

Summary

Health Canada has committed to monitor the marketing of unhealthy food and beverages to teenagers as part of its "Healthy Eating Strategy". This study will engage teenagers in the process of monitoring, asking them to identify what counts as teen-oriented food promotion. Teenagers will be provided with a smartphone app called Grab FM! ("Grab Food Marketing!"), which allows them to capture the food and beverage marketing that they feel is targeted specifically to them.

Participating teenagers will be asked to:
1) Use the app to capture images of food and beverage marketing for a period of 7 consecutive days.
2) To complete a survey based on your experience at the end of the 7 day period.
