An investigation into perceptions towards online job interviews
Summary
The purpose of the study is to explore how job applicants perceive different kinds of job interviews that are administered online (i.e., through Zoom). Participants will be asked to partake in a short mock interview that is administered through Zoom. Afterwards, participants will be asked to complete a questionnaire pertaining to behaviours and reactions during the mock interview. The study is expected to last approximately 60 minutes.
Eligibility
Eligible ages: 18 to 99
Accepts healthy participants: Yes
Inclusion criteria:
Participants will be required to have the following experiences at any time during the last two years: 1) full-time or part-time work experience, and 2) participation in at least one real job interview. Furthermore, participants will be required to have Zoom installed on a device that has a working webcam and microphone. During the mock interview, participants will also be asked to wear more formal clothing that they would usually wear during a real job interview.
Exclusion criteria:
Participants without any work experience, or experience in at least one job interview during the last two years will not be eligible to participate. Furthermore, participants that do not have Zoom installed on their devices and/or do not have working webcam and microphones will not be eligible.
