Nurturing the experiences of international grad students (women-identifying) participation in a dedicated physical activity space.
Summary
Our project includes a survey to help identify the sociocultural factors and barriers to using fitness facilities/spaces for international graduate students (women-identifying). This is followed by an invitation to participate for 8 weeks in a dedicated physical activity space supervised by a certified instructor. We will then seek out volunteer to participate in a semi-structured interviews, that will explore their attitudes using a women’s-only fitness space following participation.
Eligibility
Eligible ages: 18 to 50
Accepts healthy participants: Yes
Inclusion criteria:
International UCalgary graduate students -woman-identifying.
Exclusion criteria:
If you are a woman-identifying international UCalgary graduate student, you are eligible to complete the first survey. If you are interested in joining the physical activity program, you will need to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire to ensure that it is safe for you to participate.
