Personality and Binge Eating in Men and Gender-Diverse Adults
Summary
Research on eating disorders in men and gender-diverse people (such as transgender and nonbinary people) is scarce. This study aims to describe personality traits in men and gender-diverse people with binge eating versus men and gender-diverse people with no eating disorder. It also aims to describe psychological symptoms, like depression and substance use, that go with eating disorders.
Participants will be asked to complete:
1. a video or phone interview
2. an online survey
The entire study should take about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. Participation is confidential.

Eligibility
Eligible ages: 18 to 100
Accepts healthy participants: Yes
Inclusion criteria:
Fluent in English, AND is a:
1.Cisgender man who binge eats (eats a large amount while feeling a loss of control) at least once a week.
OR
2. Cisgender man with no current or past eating disorder.
OR
3. Gender-diverse (does not identify as cisgender) adult who binge eats at least once a week.
OR
4. Gender-diverse adult with no current or past eating disorder.
Exclusion criteria:
1. Those who identify as a cisgender woman.
2. Those under 18 years of age.
