Thought and Mood Dynamics
Summary
What happens when our minds wander? The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between individuals’ thoughts, experiences, and emotions. This study has two separate components, one in-person and one online. You may choose to participate in just one or both components.
In-person: You will come into the lab at the University of Calgary and complete some tasks on the computer while wearing an EEG cap that allows us to collect information on your brain activity. You will also be asked to fill out surveys regarding your current emotions.
Online: You will be asked to answer short surveys (that take 1-2 minutes to complete) sent to you several times a day for a period of 7-14 days via a mobile device. These short surveys will ask you about your emotional state, attention, and thought patterns. During the study, we may contact you several times to ensure that we can answer any of your questions.
