Development of the Fear of Cancer Recurrence Scale for Pediatric Survivors of Childhood Cancer (FCRS-Peds)

Summary

This study is about making a questionnaire to measure fear of cancer recurrence experienced by survivors of childhood cancer. Right now, there isn’t a great way to measure fear of cancer recurrence experienced by young survivors. This means we don’t fully understand how common it is or how it affects young survivors. Learning more about it could help improve the lives of young people who have had cancer. We will work with survivors of childhood cancer who are between 8-18 years of age to create and test questions for our questionnaire. Then, we will use statistical analyses to decide which questions to keep and use in the final version. This study is a first step to better understanding fear of cancer recurrence experienced by kids and teens. The questionnaire we make will help us to learn more about this problem for survivors of childhood cancer.
