Echoes from Galang to Calgary: Tracing the Vietnamese Refugee Journey
Summary
Our study explores the personal journeys of Vietnamese refugees and their descendants in Canada. We aim to understand their experiences from fleeing Vietnam to settling in new communities. By sharing their stories, we connect historical events with today’s cultural landscape and enrich our understanding of the Vietnamese diaspora in Canada.
Eligibility
Eligible ages: 0 to 1000
Accepts healthy participants: Yes
Inclusion criteria:
1. Vietnamese refugees who resettled in Canada, their descendants, or have an affiliation and know of their experiences.
2. Individuals related to unsuccessful Vietnamese refugee attempts.
3. Able to participate in an interview in English or Vietnamese.
Exclusion criteria:
1. Individuals not connected to the Vietnamese refugee experience.
2. Those currently experiencing severe psychological distress, without support.
