The Multiple OutcoMe EvaluatioN of radiation Therapy Using the MR-linac Study
Summary
Radiation therapy is essential for cancer treatment, but it can cause serious side effects. MR-guided radiation therapy (MRGRT) offers more precise treatment by using real-time MRI, which may improve cure rates and reduce side effects. The MOMENTUM study aims to speed up the development of MRGRT and introduce the MR-Linac machine, which combines a linear accelerator with MRI, into clinical practice. The study will collect data from cancer patients receiving MR-Linac treatment to improve software, evaluate outcomes, and develop new treatment features. Participants will give consent for their MRI scans and may provide additional research imaging and patient-reported outcomes during treatment. No risks are expected for participants, and privacy will be protected by strict data security procedures.
