Pathways to Prevention: Examining Gun and Gang Violence Among Black and Racialized Youth in Alberta
Summary
This study is about listening to people affected by gangs and gun violence in Alberta. We want to talk to three groups: people who have been involved in gangs (including those who were incarcerated for gang-related reasons), people who live or work in areas where gang activity is common, and workers who support individuals and communities impacted by gangs.
The goal is to better understand why some people join gangs, how they leave, and what can help stop gang violence. We are also interested in how racism, poverty, and safety shape people’s lives.
By sharing your story, you can help build programs and policies that better support individuals and communities. Your voice matters, and your experiences can help create safer, more supportive communities.
