Trajectories of Academic Stress and Engagement
Summary
Understanding what affects students' stress and engagement during the semester is important for helping them do better. Stress and engagement change over time because of different challenges and personal resources. Collecting data throughout the semester helps us see how these changes happen and allows us to step in when needed.
By finding out what increases stress and decreases engagement, we can understand how these issues grow and what causes them. Some factors we will look at include barriers like feeling isolated, having too much schoolwork, and financial problems, as well as personal strengths like confidence, adaptability, self-control, emotional reactions, social support, and help from the school. Also, knowing when stress reaches a critical point is important for giving students early and effective help. This research aims to discover what causes stress and disengagement so that universities can provide specific support to improve student well-being and success.
