Force-based Haptic Assistance for Immersive Surface Interaction
Summary
Researchers in the visualization community explored various methods for interacting with the visualizations to present and understand the data better and extract information. With virtual reality emerging as a medium that provides ease of maneuverability in a three-dimensional space, researchers were able to utilize the platform to present better ways to interact with the visualizations. Moreover, researchers explored methods to enhance perception when interacting with visualizations by involving the touch sensation because of advancements in hardware capable of providing realistic touch sensation. This study explores the efficacy of different modes of interactions using touch sensation device in an immersive environment for interactions with complex and large-scale visualizations.
