Evaluation of an app-based walking aid skills training program for healthcare trainees
Summary
We are evaluating the use of the ICanWALK© app as a training tool for medical students, medical residents and nursing students at the University of Calgary.
The ICanWALK© app teaches people how to fit and use walking aids. It uses video modules and a self-evaluation system to increase user's knowledge and confidence fitting and using walking aids. We are recruiting medical students, medical residents and nursing students to evaluate the app's usefulness at increasing knowledge and comfort teaching others to use walking aids.
